Low-income neighborhoods like the Haight, the Western Addition and Bayview have more tobacco and alcohol stores per capita than any other neighborhood in the Bay Area. Making things worse, the alcohol sold is fortified and more powerful than that sold in other Bay Area stores. In the inner city, malt liquors in 40 oz. containers are prevalent, with a variety of selection that is not found elsewhere. Pushers come in many forms for our clients and we work to create a healthy and safe community everyday.

HAFCI is in a unique position to advocate for Bay Area communities that are significantly impacted by drug and alcohol use. Not every drug problem exists in an inner city or socio-economically depressed neighborhood. For example, many suburbs and rural areas of California have severe community problems with methamphetamines and other addictive drugs. HAFCI works to educate the governments of our neighbor counties and to share our decades of expertise with communities in need.
