The Honorable Harlan Grossman, Chair, is a Superior Court judge in Contra Costa County. He attended law school at the University of San Diego. He also serves on the board of the West Contra Costa branch of the YMCA. He has played a significant role in the development of drug courts. He subscribes to Martin Luther King Jr.’s words: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
Eric Flowers, Vice Chair. is President and Chief Executive Officer of Public Health Service Bureau, Flowers has accumulated the wisdom and capacity to excel in volunteer activities. Since his appointment to the Board in 2001, he has used his extensive experience in public health delivery, contracts, and business management to instill best practices in the Clinics’ governance and operations. An East Bay leader, University of California, Berkeley graduate and M.B.A., Flowers exemplifies the very best in volunteer leadership and capacity.
Tamara Mason-Williams, Secretary, is Senior Counsel for the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program, specializing in Labor and Employment law. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2001, she was a litigation associate at a San Francisco law firm for seven years. She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1994 and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
Stephen Bach has held positions in Finance at Frito-Lay and American Airlines, and as CFO at Citadon, iReady, SuccessFactors, Nimblefish Technologies and, currently, NEOS GeoSolutions. He brings some 20 years of corporate finance experience to the board. Steve served as a pilot and officer in the U.S. Navy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at UCLA and an MBA at Stanford.
Deborah J. Broyles is a Partner specializing in labor and employment law with the law firm of Reed Smith LLP. She received a J.D. from Harvard Law School and was admitted to the California Bar in 1993. She has received many honors in her profession and is committed to enhancing diversity in the legal profession.
Todd Choy has over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and administration in both large corporations (Gap and Nestle) and venture backed start-up companies in the consumer packaged goods and healthcare space. He is currently the CFO of Medem, Inc. where he oversees the accounting, finance, human resources, and administrative operations. Todd also assumes a business development role in securing value added resellers (VARS) and electronic medical record vendors (EMR).
Susan B. Christian is an Assistant District Attorney in San Francisco specializing in criminal law and appellate practice. She received her B.A. and J.D. from Yale, and has been a member of the California Bar since 1992. Susan currently serves as co-chair of the Alice B. Toklas LGBT Democratic Club and has a deep interest in penal system policy and reform.
Tom Christian is a 4th generation San Franciscan and works in commercial real estate. He has helped both non-profit and for-profit developers and corporations purchase, lease, and dispose of facilities and development sites primarily in San Francisco for over 24 years. Tom, his wife and two sons live in San Francisco.
Dianne Fong-Torres a graduate of San Francisco State University, was a senior adult probation officer for the City and County of San Francisco for 30 years, with a specialty in substance abuse. On retirement seven years ago, she joined the Department of Parking and Traffic as a hearing officer, on a part-time basis.
Graham Gunst is a marketing professional with extensive experience in advertising. A graduate of Dartmouth College, he worked with the ad agency, the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago, then joined Nimblefish Technologies in San Francisco in 2004, where he is the Marketing Solutions Director. In New Orleans in 2007, he worked with Habitat for Humanity.
Liam Mayclem is an Emmy award-winning TV host and a producer. Born in London, Liam has co-hosted CBS 5’s Eye on the Bay since 2005. In his spare time Liam steers his energy towards the community, raising money as an auctioneer and MC for such organizations as the AIDS Emergency Fund, Project Open Hand, The Northern California Cancer Center, and Walden House.
Marguerite Meade, Board Secretary is a lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley and Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Currently, Marguerite is a senior attorney at The Davis Law Firm in San Francisco where she specializes in employment law. Marguerite has long been interested in health care issues, especially those that affect the uninsured. Marguerite has long advocated Haight Ashbury Free Clinics philosophy that "health care is a right, not a privilege".
Victor R. Ortiz is a Global Operations Program Manager for the Cisco Networking Academy, a non-profit part of Cisco that helps people prepare for careers in the network economy. NetAcad provides technology skills training curricula used by over 900,000 students in 165 countries. Before joining Cisco, Victor was program director of the Freedom House Foundation, a residential treatment center in Stockton, and consulted for the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
Peter Sullivan is President of PSAI Reality Partners, a private equity real estate investment firm in San Francisco. Peter has 30 years of experiences in leasing, finance, syndication and investment in Bay Area commercial real estate. A third generation Californian, Peter earned his B.A. Cum Laude as an Independent Scholar from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. A father of two, Peter resides in Oakland.
Jeanne Woodford retired as the Chief of the San Francisco Adult Probation Department in 2008, completing 30 years of work in the field of criminal justice, including serving as the first female warden at San Quentin state prison. She served as director of the California Department of Corrections, and has worked for the administrations of both Gov. Davis and Gov. Schwarzenegger, as well as for the Superior Court of San Francisco.
